YOU WILL LEARN
 

How to set up an exciting impactful still life by understanding the important principles of composition.
 

Understand how to use your device to create accurate drawing, and to improve design and tone.
 

Using elements to lead your eye to your focal point

Use negative spaces as a design and drawing tool.
 

Load colour and thicker paint appropriately.
 

Use brushstrokes to create interesting areas of texture and rhythm.

About the Artist;

 

Leanne was born in Zimbabwe and spent most of her life in South Africa. She now lives in Perth where she has been teaching weekly classes for the last 20 years. Recently she has stepped away from teaching weekly classes and is now concentrating on giving intensive workshops around the country. 
 

Leanne has written a book called plein air painting with confidence. This book has had great reviews and been widely sold. It is now onto its second printing. Leanne also has her own platform for her online teaching videos Leanne is a multi-award-winning artist including a $50,000 Portrait prize.
 

She gets her inspiration from early 19th century Masters like Joaquin Sorrolla and many others. Leanne has done workshops with American master artists Richard Schmidt, Dan McCaw, Danial Gerhartz, Jennifer McChristian and Scott Burdick to name a few and has also done many with local artists including landscape artist John Wilson. She is very passionate about expressing light which she does through her bravura brushstrokes and loose expressive and impressionistic style. She is also a colourist and is known for her bold use of colour especially in her still life and figurative pieces.
